The number of readers accessing the German Medical Journal is steadily increasing: In 2016, the Arabic-English edition of the GMJ counted 361,000 readers and the Russian-English edition 347,000 readers. The German Medical Journal has thus developed to become one of the most widespread and reputable medical trade journals in the world within just a few years. The German Medical Journal is published in both Arabic-English and Russian-English. A Spanish-English and a French-English edition are in the pipeline. This is done by the publishing house in response to the high access rates by readers from Central and South America, the U.S. as well as from Africa and Canada. The new language editions will entail another significant increase in the circulation of the German Medical Journal.

Following an introductory phase, we have digitised the German Medical Journal. The Internet was created as a medium for scientific publications and is the ideal communication channel, which we also use for the German Medical Journal. The changeover to the digital version has led to an explosion in the journal’s circulation. As a digital medium, the German Medical Journal is available anytime and anywhere.

The publishing house will be starting the procedure of calculating the impact factor of the German Medical Journal and will be initiating its addition to the most important medical databases, such as Medline, Embase, etc., in the course of 2017.
